Job posting: Early Childhood Teacher for German Immersion Preschool

 

The Germanic-American Institute is currently hiring a teacher for the KINDERSTUBE GERMAN IMMERSION PRESCHOOL in St. Paul. Our preschool program provides an early childhood education to young children in a German speaking environment.

 

Requirements

• Teacher must be native or fluent German speaker and have experience teaching young children.  3+ years of Preschool teaching experience desired.
• Post high-school education required. Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development preferred.
• Teacher must possess a genuine love for children ages 3-5yrs old.

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

1. Create a safe, nurturing, child-centered environment.
2. Follow MN State pre-school licensing regulations and Kinderstube policies regarding children’s health, safety, behavior, and learning progress.
3. Lead daily activities and oversee assistant teachers’ and classroom aids’ to be
   sure they are in alignment with above-stated policies.
4. Plan, organize, and implement a weekly thematic curriculum to meet the Kinderstube educational and developmental objectives.
5. Communicate with parents regarding child’s activities, behavior, social interactions, and any health or other concerns on a daily matter.
6. Organize and execute twice yearly family conferences in alignment with State Licensing policy.
   7.  Ensure that daily classroom order and cleanliness is maintained and a pleasant
   and welcoming environment is provided.

1. Assist in maintenance and update of children’s files.
2. Complete required number of yearly in-service hours; first aid-training within 1 month of hire date.
3. Attend extra curricular activities, such as family events, holiday performances,
   staff meetings, or preschool fairs.
4. Report to the Kinderstube Director

 Starting Pay

·    $14.00-$15.00/hr
