Please reply to Lisa Ohm at LOhm@csbsju.edu -- or Jae Cody at margaret.cody@district196.org if you are able to help!

Dear Colleagues.  We need more interviewers for Minnesota's top students!

The MN-AATG German Testing and Awards Program is seeking more volunteers to help with the fun task of interviewing the high school students who placed in the top 10% in the written AATG German test.
Interviews will take place on Saturday, March 2nd, on the campus of the College of Saint Benedict in St Joseph, MN.
Coffee and rolls will warm you up at 8:00 a.m. Orientation for interviewers begins at 8:30. Interviews are 9:00 - 11:45. 12:00- ca. 2:00 interviewers meet to have lunch, determine rankings, and choose nominees for trip awards.  Teachers whose students participated in the testing are, of course, not eligible to serve as interviewers.

Please contact Lisa Ohm at LOhm@csbsju.edu  or
Jae Cody at margaret.cody@district196.org if you are able to help!

AATG Summer Program for High School Students -- space available!

We all agree, there's no better or more effective way to learn German than to be immersed in the culture. The AATG German Summer-Study Program for High School Students still has space available for this summer! Our summer study program offers your students the opportunity to spend 3 weeks in Germany improving their language proficiency and experiencing the culture!

The AATG program includes a home stay, study at a German Gymnasium, and excursions that allow students to experience language and culture firsthand. Students are chaperoned by AATG members, and AATG handles all the details.

Veteran German teachers know this is a terrific opportunity for students--if you are a new German teacher, this program deserves great consideration. One or two of your students interested? A larger group? Interested in traveling with them? Need to stay home? We'll make it happen.

With course sites in Berlin, Leipzig, Wiesbaden, and three sites in Bayern--and departure dates from May 27 to July 1--there's a program that's just right for every student. The application deadline is April 15.

Program costs are $3,695 and include international airfare from Chicago, Newark, or New York. Special Earlybird Price $3,395! Register and pay in full by March 1, 2013, and save $300! AATG also offers a limited number of scholarships of up to 25% of the program cost for students with financial need. Interested in finding out more about this program? Visit our website www.aatg.org or contact Anita per e-mail anita@aatg.org or phone (856) 795-5553.

Nothing boosts a German program more than students with great experiences in Germany!
