Westside High School in Omaha, NE (http://whs.westside66.org/) is looking for a full-time German teacher to take over a successful German 1 - 5th year (AP) program for fall 2014.  The Program includes a strong GAPP program, German Club, German Honor Society and participation in the National German Exam.   The middle school teacher is very dynamic and enthusiastic and has steadily increased the high school enrollment. 
The school is anxious to move along quickly as new teachers begin the last week of July.  The program is in danger of being dropped if the school district cannot find a teacher.

The German Program of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature instructs a large number of students in courses in German literature, German language and culture. The program offers a) an undergraduate major in German, b) a German Minor and a Minor in German Business, and c) participates in the Master of Arts in Foreign Languages, Literature, and Translation with concentrations in German.

Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Department of Foreign Languages and Literature at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee invites applications for an open rank position in German literature to strengthen its program. Successful candidate will participate in the interdepartmental M.A. program, and will serve as coordinator for German and its associated study abroad programs.

Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must have the Ph.D. in hand by the time of employment, a demonstrated record of scholarly publications, and native or near-native fluency in German.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred qualifications include: extensive experience in teaching contemporary German literature, culture, and language at all levels, experience in supervising and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.
